God loves Muslims!

Written by Peter Youngren on October 30, 2006

God loves Muslims! Do you believe that?

When you read my new book, “My Muslim Friends” (yes it arrived from the printer this week), you’ll see another side in the current debate about Islam and Christianity. Here is an excerpt from page 62.

“When I share the Gospel with my Muslim friends, I often remind them that tradition within Islamic culture testifies of the amazing sacrifice Jesus made. Devout Muslims sacrifice a lamb annually in commemoration of the great prophet Abraham. The Muslim holiday Idul Adha comes at the end of the Islamic year, and is known as a time of sacrifice. Though most families offer a lamb or a goat, wealthier families may sacrifice a cow.
When Abraham’s son was placed on the altar of sacrifice, he should have died, but God provided a lamb to take his place. I never argue about whether it was Isaac or Ishmael on the altar, because on this point Muslims and Christians differ. Muslims believe it was Ishmael, while Christians believe it was Isaac. My objective is to get to the main point of the Gospel message, which is what Jesus has done for us. We can discuss Ishmael versus Isaac at another time.
The point is straightforward. Abraham’s son should have died. He represents us because we should die because of our sin. God in His great love told Abraham not to kill his son. Instead, God provided a lamb to take the place of Abraham’s son. John the Baptist, who is the prophet Yehya in the Koran, pointed to Jesus and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29) The lamb became the substitute for Abraham’s son just like Jesus became our substitute. We should have been killed and judged for our sins but God provided the Lamb of God to take our place. “
There is no off-limit place as far as Jesus is concerned. We must help our Muslim friends discuss Jesus.
What helps the course of the Gospel the most? Denigrating Islam and its founder Muhammad or inviting Muslims to discover Jesus?
“My Muslim Friends” will be a valuable tool in witnessing to Muslims. You may want to buy an extra copy for a Muslim friend.
If you order now, I will include shipping and handling. Please click here and you will have this valuable resource in your hands within days.
Do you have any stories to share about interaction with Muslims?

If Muslims love and follow their prophets, and they regard Jesus to be a prophet, then can it be said that Muslims love Jesus, and follow him?
If they love Jesus, are they saved? Does it matter how they love Jesus, or who they believe Him to be?
Should we rejoice in the love that Muslims share for Jesus? If so, then should be we gently admonish and edify them, just as we would any loving follower of Jesus?
Could we simply not dwell on their love for other prophets , and instead treat them as brothers and sisters in faith?
There are many non-Muslims who love Jesus, but also love other prophets, saints and spirits. Is it only a question of priority?
Is this our role as Christians, so simply always put Jesus first in our hearts?
Is it ok for Christians to love Mohammed, just as Muslims love Jesus?

I believe your new book will be a terrific resource and blessing for myself. I am involved with a project that allows a team of people to reach children who would potentially never hear the Good News. That Too good to be True news! The children are so surprised to hear that God is not mad at them anymore. His entire wrath was poured out on Jesus. Now God sees as two things. 1. We are either alive in Him (Jesus) or 2. dead. The look on the kid’s faces is priceless. They are relieved to know they are no longer under any sort of condemnation. Jesus came to free us from our sins and illnesses and shortcomings. People think that they have to earn God’s approval, love and healing by doing good deeds, being nice to others, and trying to ‘measure up’. WE WILL NEVER MEASURE UP! That’s why Jesus has to come, once and for all. The difference is, when you receive the free gift of salvation, that is, Jesus living on the inside of you, your nature goes in a different direction. No longer are you trying to measure up. No longer are you required to do anything. RATHER… you WANT to help others through Christ who strengthens you, you naturally want to be nice to others because anything otherwise goes against your new nature. You are healed because of the finished work on the cross! Jesus loves everyone.
By the grace of God our team has been able to witness and share with hundreds of unsaved Muslim children this very message. It’s not just a mental believing. Nor is it a worldly view of love. It’s an internal awakening of the Spirit. You are alive in Christ. When our Muslim friends hear this message, they will no longer just love Jesus as a prophet, but they will believe on Him as their One and Only.

I believe that God loves everyone. But with all due respect there is a place in the bible were God speaks of those people that he hates and will distroy in time. I believe the muslims are those people. I know this is not what you want to hear but I feel that if you can prove to me this is not so. I sure would appriciate it. God bless you and yours

God does love Muslims.
I am so excited to read this book.. i live in Indonesia the largest Muslim country in the world.. God loves these people..
Muslims are the most misunderstood people in the world.
My neighbors, my friends, they are beautiful people.
They just need to know the truth about Jesus!!
They just don’t know…
God loves Muslims. I love Muslims.
They just need us to bring them the good news…

I believe that the greatest way so far to bring muslims to Jesus is by preaching the gospel with miraculous signs following. That’s why you are so effective preaching in Indonesia on several occassions. many churches and servants of God in Indonesia somehow ‘could not perform’ miracles, that’s why so many churches among the muslims area were not so impacting. On many cases, the church is among the muslims but most of it’s member were ‘traditional christians’ that turned to Christ. Many charismatic or full gospel churches in Indonesia are not so spirit filled as they supposed to be, that’s why we always need someone like you or Benny Hinn, or Morris Cerullo to preach in crusade in our country, showing that we ourselves can not do it.
And please understand that what you do in Semarang, Medan, Surabaya, and specially in Bandung (I was there when the muslims cancels our meeting) is so precious to us. BUT to take the mask OFF : preaching in Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, ect is not enough for us to say that you have reached Indonesia. It is great and it is really impacting, but if we’re talking about reaching Indonesia, we must reach villages, islands, and tribes that almost sure will not attend crusede in big city like Jakarta or Surabaya, or Manado. In fact, there have already been many full gospel churches in big cities (though in many cases not impacting the society).
You have a pure heart for the gospel and for the people, that’s why I encourage myself to tell you this. It is more impacting if someone like you preaching in small villages after small vilages that we may truly say that we have reached or spent our ‘big deal of money’ in reaching the lost.
Thank you for your attentions. and please note, since you will be in Jakarta next month: ask people of God about this thing I am telling you, and we will really take tha mask OFF concerning evangelizing.
thank you, and I really love you. you are one of the most respected person for me.

If Jesus didn’t die for my sin I don’t think we should have died for our sin and took Jesus’ place because no man asked to be born or ask for sin to be in their life especially when I didn’t know any better and hadn’t heard the gospel yet. So I think a just God wouldn’t expect me to pay for my sin anyways.

Please give me some wisdom from God or amy I speaking grace.

Evangelizing to muslims is life giving if it is accompanied with signs and wonders.I live in a muslim community in Nigeria and i want to win as many muslim friends as possible to th saviour but i need God’s power for signs and wonders to follow the preaching of his gospel.

I read your book. Given to me by Elder Thomas Jack from Grace SIB Kuching Sarawak. Without any doubt it is a wonderful book. Not because you are very unbiased toward Islam and Muslim but because your openness in discussing the subject from ‘Gospel of Grace’ perspective.
If every Christian understand the true teaching of ‘Gospel of Grace’ without having the thinking ‘I’m as a Christian are right and you as a Muslim are wrong!’ and if every Muslim understand the true teaching of Muhammad without having the thinking ‘I’m as a Muslim is right and you as a Christian are wrong!’... I DO BELIEVE THIS WORLD COULD BE A HISTORICAL MUCH BETTER PLACE.
Thank you for your effort in writing My Muslim Friends.

In our chrisitian radio in Jakarta, one of the most needed person is a Muslim. He became a part of our family in the ministry. By the time going, he is exposed to the christian atmosphere, and I hope, one day he will receive Jesus as his saviour. He is a nice person and also a Muslim since he was born. Anyway, I believe God loves them and He is willing to save him. God Bless.

The big issue here is why do chrstian have to sell their religion to other people especially the muslims??.christian is a Religion just like islamic. This is why both religoins can argue, fight and disagree.
Jesus never brought any religoin to this earth, as a matter of fact he brought kingdom to the people. We should be Teaching about Kingdom and how to seek it first instead of us trying to convert People like Muslims to be chrstiantinity.Let seek Kingdom first and this idea work as it the only Idea which work the rest is like tying to sell Life insurance to people.

yes exactly GOD LOVE MUSLIMS even i can say God loves everyone.
The believers are in the world to reflect the love of Jesus Christ. Every believer has homes, and any house where Jesus Christ is the Lord can be the setting for welcoming everybody in the name of Jesus.

My heart leaps, and my spirit tunes in to such a degree of overwhelming happiness
in one like yourself who is able to truly demonstrate what bringing the glory of God is, the more I see the suffering of wars, and strife that plagues our world it is a spiritual treat to read that the Spirit of God is alive and active in the world. Jesus said think not that I came to bring peace, but the sword of division, the true followers of Jesus will separate themselves unto God but their deep love for Truth, for Peace regardless of whom their neighbor is including Muslims, Buddhists, Hindu’s they are all created in the image and likeness of God the Most High” continue the good work shining your light before men my brother and may God bless your ministry.
